Since August 2021, XRONOS now has a completely new layout, which we hope will significantly improve and facilitate the use of our database.
Firstly, we have now chosen the widely used CSS and Javascript framework Bootstrap as the framework for the frontend. This ensures that users quickly feel at home and can quickly reach the important functionalities. At the same time it improves the usage via mobile devices like tablets or cell phones. On the other hand, we have streamlined the entire usage, so that the core information about the sites and the dates are in the focus.
Filtering of the data is still possible, for this purpose there is a fold-out filter menu, which can be reached via the button “Show Filter Data”. Here, different detailed filters can be applied with respect to age, geographic extent and type of site as well as material, among many other possibilities.
Finally, we included a welcome page to inform users about the feature, the current data status, and recent news about the project.
